America’s 60+ers Go For 60+ MPG
Support the Go60mpg movement! Improved mileage standards. Find out how…
Friends and members of Gray Is Green, President Obama and the federal government are in the process of making a crucial decision at the moment – one that could play a major role in determining the shape of the world that we leave to our children and grandchildren. Fuel efficiency standards are being debated, and the right choice could put the United States in the lead role in shaping a healthy future.
Time is short, so be sure to add your voices to this critical debate. We encourage you to download this letter [for Individuals] [for Groups] asking for a 60 MPG standard by 2030. Bring it to friends and neighbors to sign and send to President Obama.
As the letter states, a 60 MPG standard would dramatically improve the environmental and economic health of our nation as well as re-invigorate the ingenuity that made America great. The cost of doing nothing is too great.
Don’t underestimate the weight that your voice can bring to this discussion. Another important way you can have an impact is to write letters to the editor of your local paper. Also, be sure to let us know what you’ve done so that you can inspire others to act as well by telling your stories (send us updates at firstname.lastname@example.org). Help us spread the word!
For more information, check out NRDC’s Go 60 MPG site, which includes an easy form to send messagea of support for a 60 MPG standard to the Administrator of the EPA, the Secretary of Transportation, and the Chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality
