Giving and Thanks

Let us remember that, as much has been given us, much will be expected from us, and that true homage comes from the heart as well as from the lips, and shows itself in deeds.

[T]he credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena…who at best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly…

 –Theodore Roosevelt

While my parents were alive, we gathered a couple times each year as three generations to share our gratitude for one another and to discern how best to allocate time and money in caring for one another, for the wider community, and for our world: elders demonstrating to youngers the power of intention in supporting family, community, and world–each an arena for attention and support. Please support Gray Is Green in 2015 as both a companion in your love for nature, and a partner in your aspirations for leaving a green legacy to your children and grandchildren.  Your gift supports our outreach and communications in collaborative partnership with these organizations:

  • Center for Humans and Nature
  • Collaborative on Health and Environmentdonate_banner_small
  • Conscious Elders Network
  • EPA Aging Initiative
  • Forum on Religion and Ecology
  • Green Faith
  • Pesticide Action Network
  • Northwest Earth Institute
  • National Continuing Care Residents Association

Thank you for being in the arena with Gray Is Green, giving your attention and presence to the challenge of creating a green legacy of conservation policy and sustainability practice, collectively daring greatly on behalf of next generations. As part of your 2015 participation in this arena, we appreciate your willingness to become a contributing member of Gray Is Green  with a gift of $25, $50, $100, $250, $500 or more, as your abundance supports. Perhaps you are new to Gray Is Green having met us recently—in Manhattan at the Peoples’ Climate March, as part of convening the Conscious Elders Network in California or Upstate New York, around the city in Boulder, CO, or around the region in New Haven, CT. Perhaps you have been with us for years–thank you!

We are grateful for your presence in awareness of, and attention to the work of Gray Is Green: to focus our generations on the ecological challenges of this century, to leave a Green Legacy for our children and grand-children. We welcome you into the ongoing work of Gray Is Green through our Curriculum for Gray-Green Living , in our networking events with outreach partners, at the prospect of our Investment Research Project, and through our periodic newsletter. Thank you for your collaborative attention to the practices of sustainable living, the labors of conservation, and the joys of our ecological community of all life!

Whatever your avenue to Gray Is Green, we appreciate your participation as a contributing member to support our expanding base of communications, outreach, and partner organizations.

Thank you!

Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking, so other people will not feel insecure around you. …as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
